TORONTO — DesRosiers Automotive Consultants Inc. says auto sales in June rose compared with a year ago, breaking an eight-month streak of year-over-year declines.
The firm says light vehicle sales totalled 182,000 for the month.
The result was up 1.9 per cent from 178,000 in June last year.
DesRosiers managing partner Andrew King says given the challenges facing the economy, he’d take any sort of market gain as a positive.
The seasonally adjusted annual rate for the month came in at 1.84 million.
On a six-month basis, sales totalled 950,000, down 2.6 per cent from 976,000 in the first six months of 2025.
