DAVIDsTEA brand Organic Sneeze Ease Herbal Infusion recalled due to undeclared almond.

A popular DavidsTea product is being recalled in Canada due to a potential allergy risk.

DAVIDsTEA Inc. is recalling its 50-gram Organic Sneeze Ease Herbal Infusion tea over concerns it could pose a risk to people with almond allergies or sensitivities, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency said Tuesday.

“The affected product is being recalled from the marketplace because it may contain almond which is not declared on the label,” the notice said.

“Do not consume recalled products to which you are allergic or sensitive as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction,” the notice added.

Consumers are being advised to check whether they have the recalled product and to avoid serving, using, selling or distributing it. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased, the agency said.

The recall was triggered by the company. No allergic reactions associated with the product had been reported as of Tuesday.

The CFIA said it is conducting a food safety investigation, which could lead to the recall of additional products. The agency is also verifying that recalled products are being removed from the marketplace.
