Health Canada is alerting Canadians about a recall of tens of thousands of power banks sold at HomeSense, Winners and Marshalls, as they pose a fire hazard.
In a consumer product recall shared this week, Health Canada says that 30,000 units of the XO Poppy 5000 mAH Magsafe Powerbanks were sold across Canada. The product came in various colours and prints, and included a USB-C charging cable.
“The power bank’s lithium-ion battery may overheat and melt at the port while charging, posing fire and burn hazards,” the release said.
The products were sold in Canada between May 2024 to March 2026 and were originally manufactured in Vietnam. As of Aug. 11, 2026, the company said there have been no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled power banks and return to any HomeSense, Winners, or Marshalls for a refund,” the recall said.

The recall was also posted on the OECD Global Portal on Product Recalls website.
