Award-winning journalist Amanda Lang is CTV News’ Chief Financial Correspondent, providing insightful analysis and context on financial stories unfolding in Canada and around the world. Lang appears across multiple CTV News platforms, including CTV National News, BNN Bloomberg, CTV News Channel, and CP24. Lang also hosts "Taking Stock," BNN Bloomberg’s weekly multi-platform program that rounds up the most important business stories of the week. Launched in 2022, "Taking Stock" provides audiences with insights from industry experts, policymakers, and leaders on all the trending business stories they need to know. A trusted voice to Canadians, Lang has been covering business news in North America for more than 25 years. She rejoined Bell Media in January 2018 as host of "Bloomberg Markets," a global program airing in Canada on BNN Bloomberg and on the Bloomberg Television network around the world. This marked Lang’s return to the channel she helped launch nearly 19 years earlier. As the New York correspondent, she was a key part of the team that launched BNN Bloomberg’s predecessor, ROBTV, in 1999. Lang started her journalism career at the Globe and Mail and then the National Post, before moving into television at ROBTV and then CNN. Lang was appointed anchor of ROBTV’s flagship morning show in 2002, before she created and hosted the network’s issues-driven debate program "Squeezeplay." In 2009, Lang joined the CBC as senior business correspondent. During her tenure, Lang was recognized with a Gemini Award in the category of Best Host or Interviewer in a News Information Program or Series. Lang studied architecture at the University of Manitoba before becoming a journalist. She is a senior fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto, and the author of two best-selling books. "The Power of Why" (HarperCollins, October 2012) explores the connection between curiosity and success, while "The Beauty of Discomfort" (HarperCollins, April 2017) examines how difficult change can be and outlines strategies for how to overcome it.
