Roger Petersen

Roger Petersen joined BNN Bloomberg as an anchor in September 2025. He is a seasoned Canadian media and communications professional with more than three decades of experience in television and radio. For the last two years, he anchored on CTV News Channel, covering stories that dominated the news cycle, including Canada's trade war with the U.S., the federal election and the Israel-Hamas War. Before that, he spent years as a trusted host and reporter for Citytv’s flagship stations in Toronto and Vancouver. He hosted all their major shows, from the award-winning Breakfast Television to the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts. Petersen has covered some of the most significant news stories in Toronto, including the horrific 2018 van attack, the G20 and G8 summits, and the COVID-19 and SARS outbreaks. He is recognized for his ability to convey complex issues clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, while also managing teams and fostering strong relationships with clients. In addition to his broadcasting career, he has been involved with numerous charities, including Arthritis Society Canada, the Bike Brigade, the Cardiac Health Foundation of Canada and Victim Services. Petersen studied radio and television at Seneca College and began his career in radio, where he went up and down the dial before moving to television. Beyond his professional life, he is a dedicated father and an avid sailor. He speaks English.
